History and Purpose

The National Exhibits Association is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization located in Lubbock, Texas, and managed by Rev. Malcolm Neyland, Executive Director and Honorary Lifetime member of the Patrons of the Arts for the Vatican Museums.

The National Exhibits Association was founded in 1999. Its primary purpose is to bring exhibitions of selected art and artifacts owned, held, or in collaboration with the Vatican Museums of the Vatican City State, Italy, and with other prestigious affiliated museums.

Beginning in 1988, Rev. Neyland broached the possibility of such exhibits in the United States. It took twelve years of diligent planning and support gathering to eventually bring the Association’s first exhibition to this country, an exhibit of 31 frescoes from the Vatican Museums never before seen. This exhibit was held during the summer of 2002 at the Texas Tech University Museum in Lubbock, Texas.

The Association seeks to focus on an appreciation and educational awareness of masterful and historical art and artifacts rarely released by the Vatican Museums for public viewing in the United States. The Association works closely with the Director General of the Vatican Museums, and the curators of other international collections and museums to arrange for the packing, crating, transportation, insurance, and contractual agreement for each exhibit.
